Convert a Lloyds statement PDF to Excel or CSV
Drop the Lloyds statement PDF below. Brought Forward reads it on your computer, checks every row against the running balance, and downloads a CSV for Excel or a file for Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, OFX or QIF. Nothing is uploaded.
Tested on real published statements. Three Lloyds statements published by councils read with every balance and every summary total agreeing.
Getting the PDF from Lloyds
In Lloyds online banking, open the account and choose Statements to download a PDF. Save it somewhere you can find it, then drop it into the box above or choose it with the button.
How Brought Forward reads a Lloyds statement
- Lloyds statements have a Type column (DD, DEB, FPI, FPO, BGC and others), kept as its own column.
- Money In (£), Money Out (£) and Balance (£) are read into signed amounts with the running balance.
- The description is centred on the amount line, with a reference above or below it; they’re joined into one description.
- The “Money In”, “Money Out” and opening and closing balances in the summary box are compared with what the rows add up to.
Into your accounts
- Xero: download the Xero CSV (or OFX) and import it as a bank statement.
- QuickBooks: download the QuickBooks CSV and upload it from Banking.
- FreeAgent: download the FreeAgent CSV and upload it as a statement.
- Excel: the CSV opens directly, with money in, money out, balance and the check result in columns.
Questions
- Is my Lloyds statement uploaded anywhere?
- No. It’s read by your browser on your computer. The page is allowed to talk only to the licence server and a cookie-free page counter, and neither receives anything from your statement.
- What if a row doesn’t agree with the balance?
- It’s flagged in red with a cross, and marked in the CSV. Check it against the PDF: usually a page is missing from the file or a figure was misread. The report button tells us the bank (and nothing else) so the layout can be fixed.
- How much does it cost?
- Three statements a day are free. Pro is £8 a month or £69 a year for as many as you like.
